Weeks 27 and 28

August is here! Katelynn has been growing and moving a LOT. She gets very sassy if she decides she doesn't like the position I'm sitting in, or if my computer is on my lap. I have been fighting off a cold this week, so we have been resting. We have 3 weeks before we move into the new house. We are excited to put a nursery together! We ordered and received our crib bedding. It's hard to see the colors in this picture.... but we love it :)

How I feel about being pregnant: It's starting to get harder to do things. I've been fortunate that I have been pretty mobile up to this point. She makes her presence known a lot. This hasn't been the pregnancy I would have chosen, however, I'm thankful for what I've been learning. I never expected to gain so much weight, or be so sick. But, I've also never been closer to Adam. We make a great team :)

Symptoms: Nasusea hasn't been terrible this week, but I am very tired.

Food Cravings: eh?

Special moment: Getting her bedding and putting plans together for her room in the new house

Next Milestone: 28 week apt is this Tuesday. We start going every other week.

What I'm praying for: That I do not get sicker. For Adam and I as we go through the process on the 2 houses. There are a few things that must be completed and taken care of. Also, It is always a stressful process to be in underwriting.

Week 26!

Welcome to Week 26!

Our house is sold!!! We completed inspections on our current and new house this past week. We are Sooooo excited about the move.

I'm so thankful for awesome friends and family who have helped us pack out the house. My parents drove up and helped for hours, we completed the house. Liz and Sarah helped me finish the garage last night. We wanted to get as much done as possible since we will be moving things when I am 31 weeks pregnant. Go big or go home!!

I don't think it would be a surprise to anyone that I have not enjoyed being pregnant. However, there are so many things I am thankful for:
1. Friends who have stepped up to help us in so many ways
2. Although I have constant nausea, I have little other side effects. I don't have any pain or side effects that some people get.
3. My parents are AMAZING. They have offered so much help and support to us, and show up with dinner and help.
4. A job that supports all my apts, and supports me having a baby
5. An Awesome OB doc who understands and is so supportive of us and our decisions
6. What I've learned. I've learned things don't always go as planned, and even though I've gained more weight than I ever imagined, and I miss being in shape... I can give myself the same grace I so quickly give others. (That's been a hard one)

How I feel about being pregnant: Pretty Good now. Looking forward to moving into the 3rd trimester and being done :)

Symptoms: Still nauseas but with my iron getting under control i'm much happier

Food Cravings: I don't think I've ever experienced true cravings

Special moment: She is moving so much!!! My stomach has been very hard the entire time so we can literally feel her growing

Next Milestone: Aug 13th is our apt with our new OB doctor. We are going to be delivering at Lakeside, which is closer to the new house.

What I'm praying for: An easy July!!! :)

Whatever Week??

Hello World!!!! What a crazy crazy ride/life we've been living lately.

We are officially in our 23rd week moving into 24- our little ear of corn! Little Katelynn girl is moving around every day, she moves alot when she hears her daddy's voice. And I am finally looking pregnant! The nausea has subsided alot... I am still miserable some days, but have found a good cadence with my nausea meds. I've started walking again, which makes me incredibly happy. I have missed being active outside SO much. Our house is still on the market, and we are trusting God's plan.

How I feel about being pregnant: I am finally feeling like there are cool things. I enjoy seeing her move, and thinking about how she's already learning our voices. Adam and I have continued to really enjoy dreaming about our family and praying over her each day. (Have I mentioned lately how AMAZING my husband is?)

Symptoms: Still nauseas and huge :) I've given myself grace that this season of my life is just going to be weird. I've been bone tired again recently, and of course my iron dipped... we are working on that

Food Cravings: Not really. I love fruit? But, that's pretty normal

Special moment: We bought a crib!!!!! Our only baby furniture item so far :) It's currently sitting in our office until we figure out where we are living, but it's super cute and perfect. I should probably pick out some bedding.... haha

Next Milestone: We have an apt next week, one more 4 weeks later... then we start going EVERY OTHER WEEK. It's bonkers to me that my 3rd trimester is coming so quickly.

What I'm praying for: OUR HOUSE TO SELL. We have a new offer in on one we really like, and we are dropping the price on ours today. It's getting old having to frantically put the house together and sit in the car with the dogs all the time :-/

Here's our crib! Rylan did a very good job of helping put it together. He is very excited about "Tate" and keeps asking me to have her kick his hand.

Week 19

I am a blogger failure. But, I feel like I finally have stuff to talk about!!!!

We found out a few weeks ago that we are having a GIRL!!! Katelynn Marie :) We really enjoyed being able to surprise everyone with the news.

We experienced one of the hardest times in our community following the May 20th tornadoes.  I cannot say enough about the character of Adam during that time. Katelynn and I are so blessed to have him leading our family. We will always tell her about that day, and what the effect was to our friends and loved ones. God really took care of us, because we had decided to move with our doctor to a different hospital a few weeks previously. I'm SO thankful he already prepared that, as our former hospital was destroyed.

Week 19 is a mango or Summer Squash. 6 inches long and about half a pound. Lil squirmer!

How I feel about being pregnant: It's still not something i would say I enjoy, but I'm excited to be half way done.

Symptoms: Still can't get through a day without Zofran. I try sometimes, then regret it. The nausea has subsided some, but I never have a day I feel great.

Food Cravings: No. I still just have aversions. Sometimes I really like certain things. Other times I can't stand them

Special moment: I feel her moving alot now. It's very subtle, so I equate it to having a small alien tickling you from the inside. Its weird haha. I really really want Adam to be able to feel her move. When we did our last sonogram and ultrasound, they all commented how active she is.

Next Milestone: HALF WAY is next week!!!!! I've also been told I should make a registry soon. I didn't know when that was supposed to happen, but someone reminded me sometimes babies come early. Oh. We'll be working on that soon!

What I'm praying for: Wisdom in the coming months with some big life decisions, and that I would continue to sleep well.

This is her :)

Week 12 and 13

I didn't update last week because I really didn't feel like much had changed :)

Baby size: Lemon

How I feel about being pregnant: I'm now on 7 weeks of nausea. I've started working out again and that has helped my mood.
Symptoms: I am getting more energy from working out, but nausea is still pretty constant. I try different things to improve it, but little helps
Food Cravings: Cheese Fries. Like a Mug.
Special moment: I threw up when I brushed my teeth. That was funny. Well, and in week 12 we got to hear the stuper strong heartbeat again :)

Next Milestone: Our next apt is in another 2 weeks. I always forget to ask what we will do at each apt, so I have no clue.
What I'm praying for: For the nausea to SUBSIDE

I'm adding this week what I'm thankful for. I'm super thankful for a doctor we know well. Kim has been so great spending time with us and answering all my quesitons. It's so great to have someone you've known for years and can make things real for you.

Week 11

How I feel about being pregnant: Some days are finally easier!! This past week I decided I would try not to take my nasuea meds at night, thinking maybe I was past that.... yeaaaa, that was a mistake.
Symptoms: I have been more fatigued, and I think my stomach is getting more squishy
Food Cravings: Mmmm still just chips. My mind craves veggies, but my stomach still disagrees

Special moment: Not sure we had one this week.

Next Milestone: Next Visit is on Tuesday! I don't know what we will do then.
What I'm praying for: For the nausea to finally completely subside and that I would not feel constantly worn out. Also, that as the stress of end of quarter comes, I am able to go with the flow :)

Week 10

Hello to all our new followers! We're so thankful for all the excitement and each of you sharing in our joy. We are thankful for such amazing friends and family who love and support us. Our child will be very loved!

Baby size: Kumquat/Prune

How I feel about being pregnant: Things have been so much better this week! I have been able to ride more, go to yoga, and my stomach hasn't been nearly as angry.... I either overdid it, or we are having an issue with my iron again, so pray we get that figured out!

Symptoms: I get tired and take 15 min power naps in the afternoon. I am so thankful for my job where I can go to work in an office every day and my reps are so encouraging and understanding

Food Cravings: Not too much, still aversions.

Special moment: We told Facebook :) Who knew that would turn out so exciting haha. I feel like I have a big mouth and so many people knew, it was exciting to share it with the rest

Next Milestone: We have another visit on the 16th. I am also excited to feel better and better :)

What I'm praying for: Someone suggested I pray for a good eater and a good sleeper. That sounded like a great idea.

Adam is in Kansas City this weekend, so it's just the puppies and I hanging out. We miss him, but i'm excited for the fun he will have. My body is definitely starting to grow, I am thankfully still able to wear my old clothes, but I see it starting to get more difficult!

Something I've done to prepare for baby: This week, our baby got it's first hat to keep his or her head warm. Thanks Aunt Tommie!! It's weird how this little hat makes me feel like it's more real. I have it in my car and I look at it every day :)

Special moment: Adam and I have been taking the furry crew on walks. We talk about the coming months and just enjoy the weather. We've also had a few friends also find out they are pregnant. It's fun to share their excitement

I was also able to have lunch with some close friends who were super encouraging and helped me with some nausea remedies! It helps when I see these cute little faces, and Max says "baby"

The Chinese Pregnancy Calendar predicts we are having a girl..... I think there's a 50/50 chance ;-)
