Be Still and Know

Week 25.

As my second trimester chugs along, I have felt pretty good. I have more energy after I've kicked some of the sickness, I've still been fighting off a chest cold- but been able to keep it at bay with natural methods. I have gotten much bigger this time, which I hear is very normal, and there are times my body makes SURE I know that I am having 2 kids very close together. I'll spare the details, but the body is an amazing thing. I have been consistently working out again, and it just makes me a happier person.I'm carrying super low again this time. Not my favorite, but I don't exactly get an opinon

Luke is one active little boy! Constantly making his presence known, loves to kick his sister when she's sitting on me, and runs marathons at night. My wonderful husband is the decorator in this family, and he is very passionate about getting us started on the nursery. I found some inspiration, and he's run with it. I'm so pumped with how it's going to turn out. He made some awesome wall art so far for the room.

Monkey:
We've had a challenging time in the last month. Katelynn had some lymph node swelling starting over a month ago, and it has not responded to medication. We met with an ENT and are on a 2nd round of antibiotics. We are praying that these work, I think they are starting to. It's been a challenge because girlfriend HATES this round. With a screaming, fighting passion. Antibiotics don't sit well with me, and she is definitely my child. The battle royale twice a day is trying, and then the general fussiness. She at some point broke through her 9th tooth, her first molar. I think we are getting another one.
I talk about it a lot but she LOVES to be active and explore. She's never really been a "lap" baby and it's never been more apparent. She hates having to be still, and is going to give her daddy an ulcer by exploring anything possible. The baby gate was somehow open the other day and she was half way up the stairs when we found her. She hates to sit still or wait, so we have been talking about patience and not losing her mind.... that's going.... well.... ya know.

It snowed this weekend and we bundled up and went outside to "play"! She loved it, but hated the gloves. We constantly tell her she would love life so much more if she would just walk, but she doesn't agree.

If my purse is ANYWHERE near her, it is scattered. I've found that she prefers that over any toys while waiting. When waiting on a doctors apt, i'm very thankful for her obsession with my purse. Until later when I go to grab something....

The look of teething.

Devastation when our veggies have to sit for a minute to cool off.....

The Joys of 12 Months

We are at 23 weeks!

In so many ways I feel like this pregnancy is flying by.... in other, that it is ridiculously slow. I know with the holidays and q4 at work the next 4 months will be a breeze. I think in some ways i'm just already sick of being pregnant. The exhaustion I was feeling last time I wrote was a combination of low iron, and a strep infection. Between that and Katelynn also getting sick, I have had a VERY tired month. The time change has actually been a huge blessing for me. Katelynn has been sleeping well and I've been able to get more sleep.

I am showing much more now. Some people who I guess missed the pregnancy memo are noticing and commenting. So, I kind of laugh knowing that I'm 6 months along. We have started to think about the nursery and of course my amazing, artistic husband has planned some awesome stuff.

I have my next apt this coming Monday, I'm assuming glucose test is coming up.... and my third trimester will be here before I know it. (I think at 28 weeks? Everything online is confusing)

First Birthday fun!!!!

Wow. One year old. It amazes me that we are here. We had an amazing weekend in so many ways. I couldn't wait to get off work, and it was EOQ so I waited somewhat patiently. We dressed up in our costumes and headed off to church with some great friends. Adam and Katelynn were the hit of the night as Captain Hook and Tinkerbell. I was Peter Pan and no one cared haha. I didn't mind, because they were stinkin' adorable.

A few months ago, my friend Carissa and I talked about having a joint birthday party for the baby girls. With Katelynn being sick this week, I was so nervous about it still happening. She was not contagious and we were able to hold the party. I thought my house was going to explode with people, Katelynn and Hartlie had SO much fun, and we were all worn out. It was an insane night, we will not have that large of parties again, but it was everything we wanted and more.  Thank you to everyone who helped, and everyone who came! Katelynn played with her new toys long into the night, and still sequels with delight when she sees her new books.
