2nd Trimester!

Week 13!

Officially the 2nd trimester! I think.... it's so confusing really. I am getting more energy, but am still getting nauseas in the afternoons. I am thankful it's not full day! I have been showing for a few weeks, but finally took a "bump picture". I've only gained 3-4 pounds so far, but I feel like my body is dramatically different. Now that I feel like I have more energy, I hope to scale back into some workouts soon.

I've been trying to move slowly so I don't forget things. I haven't been incredibly forgetful this pregnancy, but I have been easily distracted. This morning at work, I left my phone in the car. (it's a LONG walk) So, I decided I would go get  breakfast (another long walk) since I was walking all the way to the parking lot. I got to my car and realized I had grabbed my badge, but not my wallet. Sigh. I gave up.

Little Kate

I feel like she changing so much right now. Everyting is exciting to her. She loves to tell us stories, crawl around the house. And gets super annoyed when we try to hold her for extended periods of time. She loves making silly faces, and fights her bottles.... just to stress me out. When we dropped her off at church yesterday she started BAWLING. And if you know this girl, that is very odd for her. When we went to pick her up she was bawling again till she got in our arms. She is definitely going through a growth spurt, and I found a 5th tooth poking through! Poor girl is just going through so many changes!

Adam completed his art piece, and the gallery opening was at church this week. I cannot say enough how proud I am of my husband. He is a killer husband, a great dad and leads our family better than I could have ever hoped for. Katelynn loves him so much, and we really are a team. I would be no where near the person I am without him. I am so thankful that Katelynn gets an amazing example of a father to grow up with. I can't wait to see that special bond grow... because it's already there.

Oh what fun it is!

Week 12!!!!

At the end of this week we will offically be OUT of the first trimester! High fives. This is one of my favorite parts of the year. Football is back on tv, summer evenings are wonderful, and the promise of fall is close!

I have dealt with nausea again this week. I think it's partially because we have a lot going on, but I am still praying and hoping it GOES AWAY. I had my 12 week apt this morning, heart rate of 158. Everything continues to look good. My next Apt will be week 16, and next ultrasound in week 19 for the GENDER! Ahhhh!

KMB

I had a good friend from college in town this weekend. She and her 2 year old son stayed with us. Katelynn had SO much fun playing all weekend! We went to a splash pad and ate out, she was in heaven! It was a very funny dynamic with all the kids. She was the youngest, so the other kids constantly took her toys and shooed her away. She thought they were all best friends though. She is going to miss all the friends! This past week we also celebrated Stacie's birthday.... we love you Aunt Stacie!

That crazy Bivins family

Week 11 is here.... 2 more weeks till the end of the first tri! Crazy talk.

This week was a little rough. Had a procedure done midweek that caused a lot of discomfort. I also had to take it easy and rest. Which for me = BORING AND TERRIBLE. We all survivied. Barely.

A few weeks ago, I decided I wanted to buy a dopler off of ebay. I received it, and completely forgot about it. We pulled it out a few nights ago and I watched Youtube videos on how to use it. I just bought it as a fun thing to try.... it took me about 10 min but I finally figured out my child was not where I thought ha. We found the heartbeat and it was a fun reprieve from my constant complaining about resting.

My next apt is next week. I do have to say that Adam and I talked, and I'm MUCH less sick this time. Any sickness and tiredness makes you forget how bad it was before.... but I am able to eat veggies, most foods, I don't get sick at the smell of food cooking etc. I'm very thankful. I also only get severely nauseas about once a day. Still fighting the urge to single handedly keep Taco Bueno in business (ITS SO GOOD). Thankfully Adam and I challenge each other not to eat completely crazy.

Stink Stink.

I don't know if I've said it before, but I LOVE 9 months old. Katelynn is crawling all over the house. She is so funny and loves doing things as a family. Sheena and Brittney came over last week and Sheena was balancing toys on Katelynn's head. A few days later we were playing catch with her blocks, and she started puting them on her head an laughing. She's such a ham :)

Since i've been relaxing this week, i've been seriously trying to convince her to cuddle with me. She doesn't agree and usually flails around and grabs anything in her sight. It's so sweet. ha. She has been waving and saying "IIIiiii" (hi). She cracks me up because she is still kind of shy. She will be really quiet when she gets around people she doesn't know, then start talking like 20 minutes later

Expanding Bump Alert

Week 10

Hello New world :) We told the "world" this past weekend about our exciting #2 news. Katelynn was not very excited about paying attention. This picture took me being completely rediculous in the background. She kept trying to rip her bow off, knock over the sign and crawl away. I was excited to get anything useable out of this haha.

On the pregnancy front... I feel like this stage is kind of a "lull". Not much is happening. Which is completely fine with me, because hopefully that means everything is healthy and moving along! My next baby specific apt is in my 12th week. One very surprising thing has been my "bump. Two weeks ago I looked completely normal, suddenly, i'm pregnant! I am surprised, because in my last pregnancy I didn't show until 20 weeks. And yes, this picture is in our bathroom. They have the best mirrors! Don't judge.

Katelynn:

This has been a "fussy" week for her. Her top two teeth have broken through, but I think it's just the general process of them growing that has her all bent out of shape. We have been going on a walk most nights. She enjoys riding in the stroller, looking at the world and pointing at things. She doesn't talk the entire time. It cracks me up. She still is not the strongest crawler, however, she can get pretty much anywhere she wants to be.

We have also been offering her more of the food we are eating. She gets her "dinner" right when she gets home, then gets some of what we cooked for dinner on her plate. She LOVES that time. It's what I look forward to each day. She giggles and tries so so hard to get that food in her mouth.

She has also discovered my purse. I officially have to hide it from her, or she will take every single thing out and attempt to put it back in. I was letting her do it until I found her holding a vitamin. Fun over.
